Lovers Lane DIY

Hello everyone! Its been a while since our last post, but with the change of seasons its time for a new one!

Oh the seasons...

This is what a year and some upgrades can do!

Before_AfterThis first picture is of our house in early spring right after the snow melted. Sad and dreary!

This photo is early summer, things are slowly coming back to life! My main goal was to clean up the weeds and landscape the little garden planter area.

Unfortunately, it had broken plastic boarders and overgrown black landscaping material underneath all the weeds. A pain in the butt to remove! You can see my toaster loaded down with the new boarder stones we will be putting around the garden.

All cleaned up! We kept the hostas because they are easy & come back year after year. Added two pretty rose bushes too!

So much better!

Next we planted a few annuals to brighten up the garden bed.

And the final step was putting down mulch to keep the weeds out!

I love how are front garden turned out. It was one of the top things on my list after we bought the house. Just by cleaning up, adding a stone boarder and some seasonal color we completely changed the curb appeal of our house!

Another reason I wanted to post about our front garden is because its been exactly one year since we first moved into Lovers Lane. Time has gone by so fast!

Just so you can get an overview of the costs, here they are!

(Click on the name of the item to buy the EXACT ones we used)

Front Planter - Total Cost $105.00

Edging Stones - $0.98/each (Lowes)

Rose Bushes - $25/each (Wedel's Nursery)

Annuals - $3/each (Wedel's Nursery)

(Mulch was made from branches in the backyard)

Happy Halloween!
