Lovers Lane DIY

Hey everyone! Welcome to our new blog, Lovers Lane DIY! So you may or may not know that this CA couple just purchased our first home here in Portage, Michigan. Dylan & Holli, and our little white terrier named Annie who is often roaming around in the background of many photos! And with our new home, came a 25 year old swing-set in the backyard.

With a little wood and a couple screws, Dylan turned the stairs into flower boxes!

Planting some flowers while Annie naps!

Underneath the swing-set used to be a sandbox. So we cleaned it up, added some dirt and planted some shade loving coleus.

Dylan had the genius idea to cap the ends of the slide and fill it with dirt, in which I could plant whatever my heart desired!

So we decided on butter lettuce, spinach and mixed greens seeds, and a few different varieties of mint! Oh and a watermelon plant just for fun!

This photo was taken only 3 days after planting the seeds! They grew so fast!

We also bought a few wind-chimes and hanging flower baskets from Home Depot to decorate where the swings used to hang.

Our recycled swing-set is a work in progress, so check back for progress of how our new little garden is growing!
